By the end of 2009 there were c.200 members and c.120 awards issued and the programme is recognised nationally and internationally.
The award is granted based on performance in implementing an Environmental Management System, Waste Management, Water Management and Energy Management.
The Green Hospitality Award requires continual improvement and a real commitment to the environment. Recent research has shown that more customers are looking for the hospitality sector to demonstrate good environmental performance.
