IHF CONFERENCE 2012

The IHF Conference will take place in Hotel Kilkenny from Sunday 4th - Tuesday 6th March.

The Irish hotel sector has experienced an enormous drop in revenue particularly from overseas visitors in the last three years. There are some signs that this trend is reversing for some but there is a long road to recovering the levels of activity enjoyed prior to 2009. Many hotels and guesthouses have addressed their internal cost structures but there is also an enormous change taking place in the buying behaviour of guests, with a huge increase in the use of online reviewers, social media and online travel agents.

Recovering revenue in your business requires a complete understanding of the changes that are taking place. For this reason this year our conference is focusing on the demand side of our industry with particular emphasis on digital, online and marketing topics that will help you achieve your goals. We are honoured that Conference 2012 will be officially opened by the President Michael D. Higgins. We are also delighted that we will be joined by Leo Varadkar TD, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport.
