The latest in Tourist Assistance

The Irish Tourist Assistance Service, ITAS, provides immediate support and assistance to visitors to the country who become victims of crime seven days a week and last year assisted over 800 tourist victims of crime from 45 countries across the world.

This year, the service will once again be open seven days a week and will operate their lo-call Helpline – 1890 365 700.

As the service embarks on the 2016 season, Chief Executive, Lisa Kennedy said -

Shannon College Student wins Gold Medal for Restaurant Service in World Skills competition

Alina Sile, a year 4 student at Shannon College of Hotel Management is now a world champion in Restaurant Service. Last month Alina took home the gold medal from the World Skills Competition held in Brazil. World Skills is the world’s largest education and skills competition, giving young people a much needed platform to showcase their chosen discipline on the world stage. 
 

The Heights Hotel, Killarney takes the crown for Best Hotel Carvery at the Great Carvery of the Year Grand Final

The Heights Hotel in Killarney, Co. Kerry has been crowned Ireland’s best hotel venue in the sixth annual Great Carvery of the Year competition. The winners were unveiled by Irish sporting hero Katie Taylor in front of a packed house at the Great Carvery of the Year Grand Final at the Herbert Park Hotel in Dublin.
