Role in the Hotel:                              

Greeting, receiving, welcoming and registration of Hotel Guests, maintaining their accounts and handling their inquiries.  Undertaking cashiering and switchboard duties as required and to accurately complete all reception documentation to the correct company standard.

Every member of staff is expected to ensure that the hotel guests comfort, satisfaction and well being, are catered for in a friendly, helpful, efficient and personalized manner at all times.

 

Main Duties:

  Ø Welcome the guest with full attention and a warm smile

Ø      Ask guest to fill in registration card and reconfirm guest booking in computer system with guest i.e.  number of night's stay, rate, non smoking room choice etc.

Ø  Check method of payment and take pre authorization on  credit card or cash deposit (also take vouchers etc. if applicable.)  You are responsible for accounts of guests, which you have checked in.

Ø  Enquire if guest would like assistance with luggage

Ø  Hand guest key/key card card and indicate room number in discreet fashion (i.e. Do not call out aloud for security reasons) and indicate the location of lifts, restaurant, bars, spa, leisure facilities etc..

Ø  Whenever possible take a guest up to their room directly & advise them of features of the Hotel etc. on route.

Ø  Be familiar with sales and promotional activity and upsell at every possible opportunity.

Ø  Answer switchboard (where appropriate) in a speedy, professional manner with an appropriate greeting.  Smile - it can be heard in your voice.

Ø  Liase with reservations on a daily basis ensuring all relevant correspondence is at hand & take any reservations as appropriate.

Ø  Ensure that all information is entered into Visual One System in a correct and timely manner.

Ø  Ensure all reservations are accepted, recorded and confirmed (where appropriate) in accordance with company policy and in an efficient, courteous and professional fashion and file all correspondence accordingly.  In event that your hotel cannot accommodate, pass callers details to Lough Rynn (our sister property).

Ø  Ensure the Accommodation Department is aware of all guest requests etc.

Ø  Ensure all cash, charge, float and till procedures are carried out in accordance with company policy.  You may be held liable for payment in the event of the company suffering financial loss due to monies, short lost or stolen due to negligence.

Ø  Carry out Daily Competitor Checks as appropriate

Ø  To carry out company's customer relation's policy and communicate hotel services to guests.

Ø  To wear clean, suitable uniform and name badge at all times.

Ø  To ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming

Ø  To actively participate in any training and personal exercises designed to improve standards and performance levels.

Ø  Deal with guest complaints in a friendly and efficient manner ensuring guest satisfaction at all times.

Ø  Upkeep of the equal opportunities policy to ensure that there is a neutral working environment.

 

Required Qualifications: 
Minimum of 1 years previous experience at Reception in a 4 star property
Required Skills:
