IHF EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER INTRODUCTION OF VODKA SACHET

The Irish Hotels Federation (IHF), which represents 1,000 hotels and guesthouses throughout Ireland, has expressed grave concerns over the introduction of a vodka sachet to the Irish market.

President of the IHF, Richard Bourke states, “The Federation believes that the introduction of this vodka sachet will exacerbate the problem of under age and binge drinking. We are calling on our members not to stock vodka sachets or any similarly packaged products on their premises. The IHF, in common with other sectors in the drinks industry, shares a responsibility to ensure the responsible promotion and use of alcohol. We will continue to be vigilant on any new products or promotions which might facilitate the abuse of alcoholic substances.”
