Wednesday, 9th July 2008 IHF STATEMENT ON THE DEATH OF MR SÉAMUS BRENNAN, TD The Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) expresses its deep regret on the untimely passing, earlier today, of former Minister Séamus Brennan and extends its deepest sympathy to his wife Ann, his children and extended family. Mr Brennan had a distinguished career in politics which saw him play a leading roll in Government having excelled as Minister across a wide range of departments. During his time in office, Mr Brennan brought a vast wealth of experience and knowledge to his various portfolios in the areas of Tourism, Transport and Trade. Matthew Ryan, President, IHF, paid tribute to the valuable contribution made by Mr Brennan and his commitment to tourism during his time in key Ministries. Mr Ryan stated, “Coming from Galway and having a strong family background in tourism, Mr Brennan’s commitment to the tourist industry and desire to make a difference was evident in everything which he did as was his keen understanding of all relevant issues.
