Peter Loughnane has recently joined Ballymaloe House & Restaurant as General Manager. 
Founded in 1964 by Myrtle & Ivor Allen, Ballymaloe enjoys a global reputation for food and particularly local ingredients. 
Peter joins as the first non-family member to be appointed as GM. He was formerly employed as General Manager at Cork Airport Hotel for Trigon Hotels and previously as Sales & Marketing Manager at his family’s Hotel – the County Arms Hotel in Birr.
 
Peter has also enjoyed spells at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, as well as Hyatt & Jumeirah Hotels.  
Peter holds a BSc degree from the University of Surrey in Hotel & Catering Management and is a current member of the IHF council, in his capacity as Secretary of the Cork Branch.
