Wedding and Events Coordinator  

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Wedding and Events Coordinator to join our Sales and Marketing Team at The Great Southern, Killarney. This role would be ideal for a candidate who wished to make the transition from operations to a sales role. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Meet with potential M&E clients, including weddings and conferences, face to face and conduct site visits/consultations with the purpose of converting appropriate M&E business.
  • Responsible for managing the event from enquiry stage to contracting & handover of all details to operations team. Maintaining a presence throughout the event and following up with the client post event.
  • To liaise with operational managers to ensure that agreed M&E products and services are efficiently delivered by the operations team.
  • General administration duties in relation to Sales and Events.
  • To be a proactive member of The Great Southern Killarney Sales Team and to support colleagues and management in achieving the sales budget.

Skills & Attributes Required 

  • Previous experience in a similar role in the hotel industry is preferred
  • Proactive and driven
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • High standard of customer care
  • Self-motivated with a desire to succeed in a challenging environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Fluency in English is essential
