Tourism is Ireland’s largest indigenous industry and a critical component of the export economy, accounting for €5.7 billion in spending in 2013 and represents 4% of Ireland’s GNP.

Ongoing investment in tourism marketing by the Government is critical if Ireland is to maintain its visibility and compete internationally as an attractive destination for holidaymakers and business travellers.
