Tourism is Ireland’s largest indigenous industry and a critical component of the export economy, accounting for €5.3 billion in spending and €1.3bn in taxes in 2011 and representing 4.5% of Ireland’s services exports.
Ongoing investment in tourism marketing by the Government is critical if Ireland is to maintain its visibility and compete internationally as an attractive destination for holidaymakers and business travellers.
