Aer Lingus to increase existing flights in 2014

Shannon Hoteliers have welcomed the decision by Aer Lingus to increase both its Boston and New York flights from Shannon Airport to daily services by early 2014. The services, which will begin with the Boston flights on 6th January, followed by the New York flights by the end of March, will see Aer Lingus carry up to 50,000 additional transatlantic passengers through Shannon Airport.

Sean Lally, representative of the Shannon Branch of the Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) said the growth in flights and visitor numbers will have a positive effect on the Shannon region as a whole. He stated, “This further commitment by Aer Lingus for the Shannon area is a hugely positive development and will provide a welcome boost as part of wider efforts to grow visitor numbers from the North America.”
