We recently met with Welcome Skills who are a UK based hospitality training organisation with an International School of Hospitality in Dhaka, Bangladesh (link). Through its network of graduates from the college, Welcome Skills has a pool of qualified chefs available for recruitment to Ireland.

The chef candidates have international experience working in Asia, Europe and the Middle East and are very strong Chef de Parties and/or Sous Chefs. All chefs are qualified to Level 3 – Advanced Certificate/Higher Certificate under the UK National Vocational Qualifications which is equivalent to Level 5/6 on the Irish National Qualifications Framework.

All chef grades are now eligible for an employment permit and the permit cap of two per establishment has been removed. The minimum remuneration threshold for chefs of all grades is €30,000 which is an hourly rate of €14.79 for a 39-hour week. Please click HERE for Chef Employment Permit Checklist. 

Welcome Skills has appointed a representative in Ireland to oversee the recruitment project and will be available to discuss your chef specifications and skill requirements and to help identify suitable candidates to select for interview. Their recruitment fee is 5% of salary with 3% due on commencement of employment and 2% after 6 months.
