The Role

The property is recruiting for an experienced Sous Chef with professional experience in banqueting and hotels. The successful candidate who will assist the Head Chef in the culinary operations of the hotel will require strong leadership abilities in order to deputise in the absence of the Head Chef. Creativity, flair and innovation when creating meals are required in order to maximise the properties reputation within its market.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Responsible for the smooth running of the kitchen and food production in the absence of the head chef.

  • Have previous experience in banqueting and hotels in a senior role.
  • A strong awareness and compliance with all health and safety work practises and HACCP controls.
  • Work as a team member as well as using your own initiative.
  • Flexibility in this role is a requirement as the hours of work are on a shift basis including weekends early & late shifts
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to train and manage staff on an ongoing basis
  • To support head chef at all times
  • Strong problem-solving skill
  • Fluent level of spoken & written English

The nature of our industry means that this role will include a variety of shift & weekend work. 

Required Qualifications: 
Previous experience in a 3 star hotel in a equivelant role
