We are looking for a self motivated Commis chef with a natural ambition to grow within the company.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record working in a busy environment. With the ability to work alone and remain calm under pressure.You may be required to work both breakfast and evening shifts.

Primary Objective of Position

 

Under the general guidance of the Head Chef/ Operations Manager provide the highest food quality consistent with good cost control.

 

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maximize guest satisfaction by providing the highest food quality consistent with cost control and profitability margins of the hotel Kitchen
  • Assures adherence to the hotels standards of food quality, preparation, recipes and presentation
  • Maintains product consistency by conducting inspections of seasoning, Portions, and food appearance and follows-up appropriately
  • Assures proper safety, Hygiene, and sanitation practices and followed
  • Ensure readiness and compliance in case of last minute changes to reservations and/or rosters
  • Ensure that prices and portions are offered in accordance with food & beverage profit objectives.

Health and Safety

  • Carries out work in line with all HACCP and food Safety Regulations.
  • Adheres to all health, sanitation and food safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported and reduced immediately
  • Fully understand the hotels fire, emergency and bomb procedures
  • Carries out work in a safe manner that does not harm or inure self or others
  • Ensure that the highest standards of personal hygiene, Dress, appropriate uniform, appearance, and conduct is maintained by all employees in the department

Miscellaneous

  • Assists colleagues to perform similar or related jobs when necessary
  • Accepts flexible work schedule necessary fir uninterrupted to hotel guests and stakeholders
  • Maintains own working area, materials and company property clean, tidy and in good shape; Reports defective materials and equipment to the appropriate individual
