Banqueting/Duty Manager Opportunity @ the 4* Bracken Court Hotel, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin.

 

The Bracken Court Hotel is a part of the Moriarty Group, which is an Irish owned company, involved in both the retail grocery and hotel industries.  The company owns three large Super Valu, Stores in Balbriggan, Skerries and Palmerstown and two 4* hotels, The Bracken Court Hotel in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin  and the Courtyard Hotel in Leixlip, Co. Kildare.  The company currently employees 550 staff.

The Bracken Court Hotel was the company’s first venture into the hospitality industry when it opened its door in 2000.  Since then the hotel has been significantly redeveloped into the impressive property it is today.  The hotel is situated in the centre of the coastal town of Balbriggan and has 66 bedrooms, large state of the art C & B facilities and a modern, friendly bar & restaurant. 

 The Role:

We currently have a very exciting opportunity for the right candidate.  We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and customer focused Banqueting Manager to lead our busy banqueting team.

This is a full-time position working and average of 45 hours per week, 5 days over 7 to include weekends and public holidays.

 

This is an ideal opportunity for the right candidate to develop their career within one of North Dublins busiest wedding venues.

 

Main Duties:

  • Full responsibility for the management of the Banqueting department within the property
  • Cover an average of 2 duty management shifts per week..
  • Management of a team of 10-15 staff banqueting staff and up to 68 staff while on duty management shifts.
  • Work closely with the sales team on the co-ordination of all banquets/functions.
  • Work closely with the hotel management team on the day to day operations of the hotel.
  • Management of departmental finances.
  • Staff training and development
  • Working in conjunction w ith the kitchen team reagrding baqueting menus.
  • Stock taking
  • Rostering

 

Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will have 2/3 years experience as a banqueting manager/supervisor within a 3/4* property.
  • Must be fluent in the Englsih language - both spoken and written.
  • Must be fully HACCP trained.
  • Must have previous people management experience
  • Must be able to lead & motivate a team.
  • Must me a team player.
  • Must have strong customer skills.
  • Must be an excellent communicator.
  • Must have a genuine passion for the hotel business.
  • Must have an excellent knowledge of Food & beverage.

-3/4 years experience in a similar role within a 3/4* hotel -Must have a strong knowledge of food & beverage.
