HOTELIERS WELCOME ACTION PLAN FOR JOBS 2013

The Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) today welcomed the inclusion of initiatives to attract increased air services and overseas visitors as key tourism policies in the Government’s 2013 Action plan for Jobs. In welcoming strategic initiatives by Minister Varadkar, the IHF stated these policies further strengthened the position of tourism as the engine force of the Government’s economic policy.

Wednesday 13th February 2013: The Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) today welcomed a range of pro-tourism measures announced by Minister for Finance Michael Noonan as part of the Finance Bill 2013. The Bill includes measures to improve access to equity finance for tourism accommodation, incentives to encourage the construction of new aviation facilities, a rebate on diesel fuel for coach operators and a higher VAT threshold of €1.25m.

HOTELIERS WELCOME DEAL ON PROMISSORY NOTES

The Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) today welcomed the Government’s announcement of a deal with the ECB on the IBRC Anglo Irish promissory notes. Tim Fenn, Chief Executive, IHF stated that the deal will provide a much-needed boost to consumer confidence and people’s ability to spend in the local economy, which will in turn have a significant positive effect on tourism.
