Dear Member,

The revaluation of all commercial and industrial properties in the Limerick City and County Council rating authority area which commenced in March 2012 has now reached the proposed valuation issue stage. On the 10th June 2014 Proposed Valuation Certificates were issued to approximately 7,000 Limerick ratepayers.

The valuation on the Proposed Valuation Certificate(s) will form the basis for commercial rates charge in 2015 and subsequent years.

If you are dissatisfied with the determination of the value of your property or any other detail stated in the relevant valuation list in relation to the property, you have a right to make "representations" to the Valuation Office. This can be done online or by completing hard copy forms. The forms are available to download at www.valoff.ie or by contacting the Valuation Office directly. The final date for making representations is 7th July 2014.

The Vaulation Office has a dedicated customer care unit to handle revaluation queries by email at limerickreval@valoff.ie or by phone at 01 8171003 between 9:30 am and 5:30 pm from Monday to Friday.

Given that Rateable Valuation is a very complex and technical process we advise members affected by this revaluation to seek professional help on the matter. Should you wish to use our associate member, GVA Donal O Buachalla, the contact person is Siobhan Murphy. E-mail smurphy@dob.ie or telephone 01 676 2711.
