Restaurant Manager 

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team at The Great Southern Killarney. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To manage the Restaurant during all services, breakfast, lunch, dinner and private dining rooms
  • Draw up standards of performance and ensure high standards are practiced at all times and are constantly up graded.
  • To monitor and amend weekly rosters according to business and to carefully monitor business trends daily.
  • Ensure that all relevant orders are placed on time and that the level of stock is maintained.
  • Motivate, encourage and assist in the development and training of all department staff.
  • To constantly train on the job.
  • Deal with customer compliments and complaints.
  • Welcome guests to the Restaurant, seat guests and offer menus and wine menus.
  • To ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal.
  • Monitor reservations.
  • Monitor orders and order timings in the kitchen.
  • To explain culinary terms to guests and take orders.
  • Assist with restaurant staff during service.
  • Write up restaurant bills, receive payment or deliver to reception for room charges.
  • Balance the restaurant charge sheets daily.
  • To attend meetings organised and to give full attention.
  • To comply with company regulations regarding:Fire, Health & Safety, Hygiene & Customer Care


  • Previous experience in a Food & Beverage management role in a leading hotel.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Experience with recruitment
  • Commitment to training and developing staff within the department
  • High standards and attention to detail.
  • An excellent focus on our customers.
  • Good communication, presentation, planning and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of financial management
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high quality environment
