After what will hopefully have been a busy summer for hotels across Ireland, September, October and November can bring a very different trading picture – particularly when it comes to filling those quieter dates.
At Rory’s Travel Club, this is where we’d really like to help. For anyone who hasn’t worked with us before, our model is very straightforward. Hotels give us an offer they’re happy to make available to our members, we promote it, and our members book directly with the hotel.
There’s no cost to the hotel and we don’t take any commission from the booking.
Having spent many years working in hotels myself, I know there’s a big difference between discounting for the sake of discounting and using an offer strategically to help fill dates that genuinely need some extra business. That’s very much how we want hotels to use Rory’s Travel Club.
So, as we head into September, October and November, we’d love to hear from hotels that have particular dates, quieter periods where some additional demand would be useful. You remain completely in control of the dates, availability and offer – our job is simply to get it in front of our members and hopefully send some extra direct business your way.
Working Around What Your Hotel Needs
Every hotel is different, and we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Some hotels may want help filling specific nights, others might have a quieter few weeks between busy periods, while another hotel might simply want to encourage guests to stay an extra night or experience the destination outside of peak season.
Our Group Subscription service offers hotels a unique opportunity to fill rooms on specific dates that may have become available due to unexpected cancellations, such as a wedding cancellation or a lost group booking. By promoting your property to our network of subscribers, we can help generate significant room occupancy on those key dates. Our team will work with you to create the most attractive package possible, designed to maximise bookings and revenue for your property. There is no cost to participate; it's simply an effective way to reach a large audience and fill rooms when you need it most.
The offer doesn’t always have to be about the lowest room rate either. It could include dinner, breakfast, a room upgrade, a longer stay or another added-value element that makes sense for the hotel and gives our members a genuine reason to book. That flexibility is important to us. We want to work around the hotel’s needs rather than asking hotels to work around ours.
It’s also why direct booking is such an important part of our model. Our members book with the hotel, meaning the hotel owns that guest relationship from the beginning. There’s an opportunity to communicate directly before their stay, purchase upsells, encourage them to spend within the property and, hopefully, turn a first-time RTC guest into someone who returns again in the future.
Ultimately, our aim is quite simple: to encourage people to travel more, discover more of Ireland and support the hotels and hospitality businesses that make those trips possible.
If we can help a hotel turn a quieter night into a busier one, while giving one of our members a great break somewhere they might not otherwise have considered, that’s a win for everyone.
Come and Have a Chat With Us
We’re delighted to be sponsoring the IHF Dublin Branch Annual Summer Party on 27th August 2026 and both Rory and I will be there on the night.
We’re really looking forward to catching up with people we already work with and meeting more of the Irish hotel community face-to-face.
So, if you’re attending, please come over and say hello. Whether you already work with us, have been wondering how Rory’s Travel Club works, have some autumn dates you’d like us to help with, or just fancy a chat, we’d genuinely love to meet you.
